AllRecipes.com - This is one of my favorite recipe search websites because it has such a HUGE archive of recipes. If I'm looking to cook a certain type of dish, I can usually find half a dozen or more versions of it so that I can pick and choose the best parts of each to make my own recipe!
CopyCat at RecipeLink - RecipeLink has a huge archive of recipes, but more importantly, they have a huge archive of copycat recipes - that is, recipes from your favorite restaurants!
FoodTV - The food network's website - has a huge archive of recipes and articles.

There's a huge database of free recipes, and things that come in useful like a complete guide to creating a Thanksgiving turkey feast!
The Cook's Thesaurus - This cooking encyclopedia has info about thousands of ingredients and cooking tools, including suggested food substitutions.
